CR Services Corby Ltd delivers precision CNC machining services to commercial and industrial businesses throughout the UK. With state-of-the-art XYZ equipment and over 10 years of engineering expertise, we provide accurate, reliable turning and milling solutions for one-off prototypes through to large batch production.
Our modern Corby machine shop houses advanced CNC lathes and milling machines capable of handling diverse materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, plastics, and specialist alloys. Whether you need replacement components manufactured to exact specifications, custom parts for new equipment, or production runs of precision-machined items, our experienced machinists deliver outstanding quality every time.
We specialise in breakdown repair components, helping businesses minimise costly downtime. When production machinery fails, we can reverse-engineer damaged parts, manufacture precise replacements, and get your operations back online quickly. Our on-site survey service (free within the local area) allows us to assess requirements accurately and provide detailed quotations.
From simple turned components to complex multi-axis milled parts, we work with technical drawings or can survey existing components to create accurate replacements. Serving industries from food manufacturing to general engineering, automotive to packaging, our CNC machining services combine modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. Fast turnaround times, competitive pricing, and exceptional attention to detail make CR Services your ideal machining partner.
ADVANCED CNC TURNING & MILLING CAPABILITIES
Our comprehensive CNC machining services cater to diverse manufacturing requirements, from single prototype components to batch production runs. Operating a range of advanced XYZ CNC equipment alongside traditional manual machines, we offer the flexibility to choose the most cost-effective manufacturing method for your specific project.
CNC Turning Services: Our CNC lathes deliver precision cylindrical components with excellent surface finishes and tight tolerances. The XYZ SLX 425 gap bed lathe (1.25-metre capacity) handles both small precision parts and larger diameter work, whilst our XYZ CT65LTY and 800HD turning centres provide multi-axis capabilities for complex geometries.
CNC Milling Services: Precision milling using our XYZ SMX 4000 (1000mm X-axis travel) enables us to manufacture complex shapes, slots, pockets, and multi-featured components. From simple face milling to intricate 3D profiles, our CNC milling services meet exacting specifications.
Manual Machining: For one-off parts or smaller quantities where CNC programming isn’t cost-effective, our skilled machinists utilise manual lathes and milling machines, combining traditional techniques with modern measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
Materials We Machine:

CNC MACHINING – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's the difference between CNC and manual machining?
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining uses computer-programmed machines to manufacture components with exceptional consistency and precision. It’s ideal for batch production, complex geometries, and maintaining tight tolerances across multiple identical parts. The initial programming investment makes CNC cost-effective for runs of 5+ identical components. Manual machining involves skilled machinists operating traditional lathes and milling machines, offering flexibility for one-off parts, simple geometries, or repairs where CNC programming costs would be disproportionate. We assess each project and recommend the most cost-effective method. For single emergency replacement parts, manual machining is often faster and cheaper. For production runs or complex shapes, CNC delivers superior consistency and efficiency.
Can you work without original drawings or specifications?
Absolutely. Our reverse engineering service is particularly valuable for machine repairs where original drawings have been lost or weren’t provided with purchased equipment. Send us the damaged component, or we can visit your site to measure the part in situ. Using precision measuring equipment and CAD software, we create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings. We can often improve upon original designs, addressing weaknesses that caused the initial failure. For worn components where dimensions have changed, our experienced engineers can determine original specifications and manufacture like-new replacements. This service has saved countless businesses from expensive equipment replacement when manufacturers no longer support older machinery or have ceased trading.
What materials can you machine?
We machine a comprehensive range of materials. Metals include mild steel, stainless steel (all grades including 304, 316, and 303), aluminium and aluminium alloys, brass, bronze, copper, and various tool steels. We also work with engineering plastics such as nylon, PTFE (Teflon), acetal (Delrin), HDPE, polypropylene, and acrylic. Material selection depends on your component’s application, operating environment, strength requirements, and budget. If you’re unsure which material suits your needs, our team provides guidance based on the component’s function, wear characteristics, and environmental factors like corrosion resistance or food-grade requirements. We can source materials on your behalf or machine from customer-supplied stock.
